Chapter 20 - Human Trafficking 101 / SOLID GIRL: A SURVIVOR'S PERSPECTIVE

This workshop will provide the attendee with a detailed view of human trafficking from a survivor's perspective. 

Ms. AmyLynn "Al" Harrington Smoot will share her own experience being trafficked and tortured when she was a child and address the basics of domestic human trafficking. She is a Survivor Mentor and is employed with The Porch Light/Open Doors Outreach Network-Central Florida Region.  She can be reached at amylynn.smoot@the porchlight.org.

Discussion and materials will include elements of grooming, recruitment and training, common clues to identify someone forced into sexual servitude, and the links between modern-day slavery, prostitution, and pornography.   Recovery and ongoing support for survivors will be reviewed and discussed.
